. CUNARD LINER STRIKES A ROCK. (Received May 26, 10.5b a.m.) LONDON, May 25. The Cunard liner Ivernia struck the Daunt Rock in a fog and was beached in Queenstown Harbour. A large hole was made m tli» steamer's bottom, but watertight bulkheads were instantaneously closed and thus confined the water to the forepart, where there is 25ft of water. There was no panic, as the officers reassured the 728 passengers.
