The Wanganui Jockey Club's winter meeting commenced to-day, in beautiful weather, and with a large attendance. The amount put through, tlhe machine was £16,024, as against £10,906 on last year's first day, an increase of £sllß. Results : Borough Handicap.— Faunus 1, Mon Ami 2, Tumut 3.
