WEDDING BELLS.
nitz— McGregor
A wedding in which considerable interest was centred, took place at the Hikorangi homestead yesterday, when Miss Lucy Martin McGregor, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs M. J. McGregor, of Hikorangi, was united to Mr Herman John Nitz, third son of the late Mr Herman and Mrs Kite, of Stansboro, Kaiwhata. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Alex. Thompson, of Carterton, in the presence of their relatives - and many friends from all parts of the North island. Misses Isabel and Barbara McGregor acted as bridesmaids, and Masters Malcolm and Alistair McGregor as train bearers. The brida was attired in a beautiful dress of crepe brilliant, with pearl embroidery, whilst the bridesmaids were dressed in taffeta voile, with cream embroidery. Mr E. Nitz, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man, and Mr C. Carley as groomsman.. The gift of the bridegroom to the bride was a silver dressing case; and to the bridesmaids pearl and amethyst brooches. The bride's present to they bridegroom was a set of gold and diamond sleeve links and ■'studs. The presents-.reeeivedrby the' a" very costly -ana useful 1 character*. TAYLOR—SMITH. A very pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Matthew r s Church, Masterton yesterday., when Mr William Taylor, of Beaumaris, Masterton, was married to Miss Elsie Smith, daughter of Mrs C. A. Smith, of Bannister Street, Masterton. The bride was dressed in a navy-blue tailbr-made costume, with a grey, velvet hat, and carried a white prayer book. Mr- C. A. Smith, brother of the bride, gave his sister away." Miss" Wlnhfe* Jones attended as bridesmaid, and was dress-' ed in a tweed costume, with a saxe blue hat. She also carried a prayer book. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. Watson. A reception was held, subsequently aft the residence of' the bride's mother, 1 where several guests were entertained. The (bridegroom's present to the bride was .'a gold locket, set with diamonds, and to .the bridesmaid a pearl'and-peridot pendant. ' The bride's present to the bridegroom was a gold locket. Mr and Mrs Taylor left by the afternoon train for Auckland, where the honeymoon will be spent.
