ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(By Telegraph—Progs Association.) CORED BY A BULL. OKRISTOHUROH, Last Night. A man named McCioy was gored by a bull at Lower Riccarton tihis morning. The bull rushed from the road into a paddock. MoCloy kept the gate open for it to pass through, but it rushed at him and hurt him severdy on the head. LABOURER KILLED. Last Night. A fatal accident occurred in the timlbw yard of Messrs William White and Co., Adjdington, at about ten minutes to one o'clock to-day. A labourer named Charles Oaesar, who:-had-been employed by Messrs White and Co. for some years, was engaged in stbaeking timiber, and while standing on top of a stack about eight, feet.hdgb^vhevfie&ioffi-.. 0n, to. the ground, breaking his neck. Deceased was a married man witih a family, and was about 60 years of age. He was well-known and respected in the district.
DEATH FROM EXPOSURE. . ' THAMES, Last Nd^ht. 'The facts relating i& the finding of the dead body of William Walters, on th© road eight miles from the Thames, show that deceased and a fellow contractor left camp to meet the County Engineer. ■ They missed him, and in returning were overtaken by darkness. The mate lit a fire, and aeciined to go on. Walters took a lantern, determined to push on and reach' htome. He was found next morning in the bed of a creek. It is surmised that he itJripped and fell. "He received a slight concussion, was rendered unconscious, and died from exposure, as the night was a.n exceptionally cold one. A verdict was returned accordingly. ■
