WINDING GEAR GIVES WAY. Received This Morning, 12.50 o'clock. PERTH, May 22. Owing to the failure of the winding gear in the Sons of Gwalia minie, Leonora Ship, ten men fell to the ;bottom of a 2000 ft shaft. The cable parted, and fell on top •. f them. v Frank Rooney, an assistant surveyor, was killed. Adams, another surveyor, is not -,xpected to recover. Six miners were seriously injured.
