WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
MEETING OF DIRECTORS. The first monthly meeting of the newQ.y-eleo.ted Directors of tliie Wairarapa Caledonian Society was hold in the Dominion Hall on Saturday afternoon. Present— Mesisre Alex. McLeod (Chairman), J. B. McKemzie, J. H. Pauling, G. R. Sykos, Robt. Cameron, J. Georgeson, R. Gray, T. G. Hoar, Geo. McHattie, Robit. McKenzde, D. McLochlan, R. W. Robson, and E. H. Waddimgton. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs E. E. Chamberlain, John MeHattie, W. Sellar, Gordon Stewant, Alex. Turner, and Tiros. Wyeth. The Secretary reported that the outstanding members' subscriptions were coming in freely.
Accounts amounting to £2l 10s 6d were passed for payment, and it was unanimously decided "that a isum of £SO be deposited with the W.F.C.A. at 4 per oent., making the total fixed deposit £300." The appointment of sub-committees in accordance with Rule 18 resulted as follows: Finance, Messrs Geo. MeHattie, Robt. McKenzie, and R. ,W. Robson; Programme, -Messrs J. Georgeson, R. Gray, T. G. Hoar, Robt. McKenzie, R. W. 'Robson, E. H. Waddington and Thos. Wyethi; Pipe Band, Messrs Robt. Cameron, R. Gray, T. G. Hoar, John MeHattie, D. McLachlan, W. Sellar and Gordon Stewart; Protest, Messrs.A. McLeod, J. B. McKenzie, J. H. Pauling, J. Georgeison and R. Gray; Concert and Ingleside, Messrs J. Georgeson, T. G. Hoar, D. McLachlan, R. W. Robson, W. Sellar, Gordon Stewart and E. H. Waddington.
It was decided that the whole of the Directors .be a Ground Committee.
'Die President (Alex. McLeod), "Vice-Presidents (J. H. Pauling and J. B. McKenzie), and Treasurer G. R. Sykes) are ex officio members of all committees.
It w<ts unanimously decided "That the Hospital Ball Committee be givon the preference of the Drill Ball on Coronation Night for the purpose of the Hospital Ball, and that the date of the Inglesdde be postponed until a later date, same to be fixed by the Ingleside Committee.''
The suggestion miade by Staff ,Ser-gearut-Major McOrdsitell, "That it be a. recommendation to tlhe Programme Committee that a physical drill competition for senior and junior cadets 'be held at the sports on. New Year's Day," was favourably entertained by the Directors, and it was unanimously decided, "That the suggestion made by Staff Sergt.-Major McOristeAl be referred to the Programme. Committee, to confer with Mr MeCristeJl and arrange details."
It was decided to hold a .special meeting of Directors on Saturday next, at 2.30 p.m., for the purpose of enabling all snb-commititees to elect their respective -chairmen, and transact general business.
