THE NORTH TRAINS.
ANOTHER SUGGESTION. Mr R, B. Ross, M.P., has suggest-, «idi to the Minister for Railways thai (the passenger train, leaving .'Masterton for the north at 6 p.m., 'be altered to leave at 4 p.m., .and that the 4 p.m. train, be put back to 6 p.m., and 'be mada a. mixed traiu. The Minister has written to the Masterton Chamber of Commerce, and asked for its opinion on the subject.
Tile Chairman stated that the general desire seemed to ibe that the 4 p.m. train bo made a mixed train. Mr R. Brown did not think it desirable that the qihanga should be made. They should consult the northern districts on the subject.
Mr G. W. Sellar thought the position would be met by making the 4 p.an. goods train ia .mixed train. The chairman pointed out that a petition had been largely signed in the Forty-Mile Bush, praying that the 4 p.m. train be made a mixed train.
After further discussion, the matter was referred to a committee conr si sting of Messrs Henderson, Keith, and tlie secretary for a report.
