DELICIOUS CAKES. RAISIN OAKE.— Oeam together one and on© half tablespoons laVd or butter and three tablespoons of sugar. Then add on© egg, one cup sweet milk, one quarter teaspoon salt, two oups flour, three teaspoons baking powder, one half cup small raisins, put in good sized pan, pommelted butter over top, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and bake in a moderate oven. GINGER CAKE.--.Sify three-quar-ters of a, pound of flour mto a basin; add one cupful of chopped walnuts. one half teasipoonfui of salt, one half teaspoonful of soda, one tablespoonful of ground ginger, one tea-spoonfu] of cdnmamon, and a litirie grated nutmeg. Melt together in a saucepan one cupful of molasses, four tablespoonsful of butter, one half cupful of milk. Let cool and add the dry ingredients with two well beaten eggs.
