NEW ZEALAND FORECAST.

The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast: —
The. barometer has fallen everywhere, and stormy in many parts of the North Island. Under the influence of a cyclone passing eastward of East Cape, heavy rain has fallen on the East Coast, and the rivers are flooded. Seas are heavy between East Cape and Kaikoura. Fair weather has prevailed in the South.
Present indications are i&r a falling barometer everywhere. High southerly winds, backing to westerly northward of New Plymouth and Castlepoint, and strong westerly and northerly winds elsewhere. Rain is probable generally. A low pressure area is due to pass in the South on Sunday.
