LORD LANSDOWNE'S BILL
SECOND READING DEBATE,
(Received Last Night, 10.55 o'clock.)
LONDON, May 17
Speaking in the debate on the second reading of Lord Lansdowne's Bill, Lord Loreburn said he trusted in Lord Lansdowne's fine temper, but the Liberals were still at the mercy of the present .majority. Not until the Veto was law would the Government be in a position to consider reform proposals. He heartily hoped that it would then be possible to coone to an agreement which would be satisfactory to all sides. It would be more enduring, because it wovdd be founded on consent. The debate was adjourned.
