DELICIOUS CAKES. RAISIN GAKE.— Cream together one and one half tablespoons lard or buttef and three tablespoons of sugar. Then add one egg, one cup sweet milk, one quarter teaspoon salt, two cups flour, three teaspoons baking powder, one half cup small raisins, put in good sized pan, pour melted butter ,Qver top, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and bake in a mod-orate oven. GINGER CAKE.—Sift three-quar-ters of a pound of flour into basin ; add one cupful of chopped walnuts, one half teasipoomfui of salt, one half teaspoouful of soda, one tablespoonful of ground one teaspoonful of cinnamon, and a little grated nutmeg. Melt together in a saucepan one cupful of molasses, four ta.blespbonsful of butter, one half cupful of milk. Let cool and add the dry ingredients' with two well beaten eggs. Mix well, then pour into a buttered and floured eake tin. bake in a moderate oven three-quarters of an tour. And serve Dragon Brand Tea, the best tiea- that was ever put into a teapot in New eZalaud.
