WELLINGTON. Last Night.

The Meteorological Office this evening issued the foJowing summary and forecast :

Strong southerly, winds- prevailed in the South on Saturday night, with colder weather and rain in many and snow on the higher levels. A high pressure prevails in the South, but the barometer is a little above normal in the far North. Rain is reported on the East Coast of the North Island, and showery conditions in both far north and south. / Present indications are for moderate to strong; easterly and southerly winds generally. v Rain is probable on the East Coast and northern parts of the North Island, but fair weather will probably prevail generally. High barometric pressure is likely to continue for a short time.
