AN HONOURS BOARD.
A i.OOD SUGGESTION.
At the annual meeting of T.ho Caledonian Society on Saturday last, Mr W. Gillespie, pursuant of notice given, moved the following motion, "That an 'Honours Board' be provided on which shall bo inscribed the names of all past Presidents and dates of office, to which shall be added each year the name of the retiring President."
Speaki lg to the motion, Mr Gillespie said that by the establishment of such a memorial not only were they paying just honour to those who have had done yeoman service for the Society, but they were also making an historic record of the doings of the Society in Masterton since its inception in 1876. Such recognition by members would be an incentive to others to labour for the Society and make themselves worthy to fulfill the high and honourable position of President to such an influential institution. He would suggest that Messrs A. MeLeod. J, B. McKenzie, J. H. Pauling, and the mover be a committee with full power to net. Mr Pr.ignell suggested that tinnames of the Vice-Presidents, Treasurer and secretary bo added to the Honours Board. This was a-orW'to, and-the motion w:n put T o the meet in c, ;md carried unanimously.
