CELEBRATED AT Y.M.C.A. A fine gathering of members, with their mothers, attended the tea in honour of Mothers 5 Day at the Mas- . terton Y.M.C.A. yesterday afternoon. Jdlldams, 8.A., dealt with/ the subject of the "Home Influence," emphasising how much people owed; to their homes, and showing the influence of the home life upon, nations, the British nation in particular. Mr A. W. Hogg, M.P., said that too much bonoi* could not be done to mothers, who were doing a noble „ work in every community, and who . ■ were £he authors of the future. He spoke of the pioneering in New Zealand, which had in many cases been made possible by a mother's devotion. The speakers were accorded votes of ttoanks, as were also the soloists, .Mr C. Ibbetson and Master Stephen Bishop, and the ladies of the Methodist Church for supplying the provisions.
