WASHINGTON, May 9
Mr Tuft, addressing an organisation of American farmers, bluntly declared that ho was sorry to hear that tho farmers intended to desert the Republiccan Party if Reciprocity was effected.
Ho feared that, such desertion would affect his conviction regarding the wisdom of the proposed legislation. If experience shoved that the fanners suffered Congress would be certain to repeal tho Reciprocity Agreement.
Ho believed that the United States would send more agricultural products Canada-wards than the United States would receive from Canada.
