AMUSEMENTS.
MR J. C. WILLIAMSON'S COMPANY. "VIA WIRELESS." "Via Wireless," the biggest enterprise yet attempted. in tho way of spectacular drama on the. Australian stage, will be presented on Wednesday next, at the Masterton Town Hall, by Mr J. C. Williamson's New London Company. In "Via Wireless" tho usual improbability of tho drama is made possible. The story, it is said, is in the first place human. The many sensational happenings do so as rational sequences, are not pitch-forked in, and being introduced naturally invariably fit the occasion. Tho scenic display is said to be remarkable. In this direction, it is claimed, "Via Wireless" commences where tho last best dramatic production finished. From first to last the play cost the J. C. Williamson management something like £3OOO before the curtain rose in Sydney the first night. It necessitates a larger stage staff to work it than any pantomime. In tho way of sensational effects there is a bis wreck, the, making of a 9-inch,gun, a novel wireless effect, and tho' appearance of an immense liner concerned withvthe resue of tho castaway hero and heroine. Many of the artists who will appear, have played the parts they will be associated with here, in England and America. "Via Wireless" will be player! for one night only Tha box plan will be opened at Miss Rive's on Saturday morning.
