SEVEN PERSONS.KILLED.
COMPANY MANAGER OVERWHELMED.

LONDON, May 10.
During the h=± act ;n a performance at the Empire Palace Theatre in Edinburgh, which His Majesty the King intended visiting shortly, the stage properties caught fire.
The screen was immediately dropped, and the house emptied itself in admirable order.
Many .of the performers were in their rooms at the time of the fire.
Some fainted, but the majority escaped. Lafayette and. several members of his company, however, were overwhelmed.
Seven bodies, including -that of Lafayette, have been recovered from the ruins.
The stage fire was confined to the back of the theatre, which collapsed.
