TROUBLE IN YORKSHIRE

SYDNEY, May 9.
The annual meeting of the Federal Council of the Australasian Federated Butchers' Employees' Union has opened.
An application for affiliation has been received .from New Zealand, and till? Council will consider it.
MELBOURNE, May 9
i A movement to establish free nonpolitical trades unionism has been started. The prospect is encouraging-
LONDON, May 8.
Ther.9 is a recrudescence of the trouble in Yorkshire owing to the employers refusing to advance wages and reduce the number of hours. Twelve thousand Huddersfield weavers are balloting on the question whether they shall cease work or accept the Board of Trade's arbitration.
