Mr Adamson, headmaster of the Wesley College, has forbidden members of the teaching staff to play senior football, and also not allow boarders to attend matches.

He says that the .curse of large gate money, consequent on professionalism, has caused the game to use its utility and purity. "Even women attending matches become raving maniacs."
