KAIPARORO.
Thieire have been, several heavy fnasfis here during the- week, but they have been .succeeded by delightfully bright, sunny days. Farmers are taking .advantage of the fine wealthier, and are busy criitdliikig their sheep. Wild ' pigeons .are reported to be fairly plentiful in the bush in this district, and several sportsmen who went out shooting on the opening day of the .season, secured good bags. Others who 'travelled further back, expecting to find the birds more plentiful, did not have the luck they anticipated. •Mr A. Falkner, senr., left yesterday on a business trip to the South Island. The usual monthly meeting of the Sclhiaol Committee took place on Monday last. There was a, full attendance of members, and a good deal of important business- was transacted. 'The Committee decided tha in order to promote an. improved at tendance, they would, award attend ance prizes at the end of -the year.
