GLAMOURING FOH RELIEF.
NEW SULTAN PROCLAIMED,

TANGIER, May 8,
Although the Sultan., is clamouring for the speedy arrival of relief, a® the situation has become worse, it is feared that Brullard's force will be fortnight in reaching Fez.
The delay is dx\e> to the piece-meal formation of the force,, and the fact that the French colonial battalions do not possess, in peace the full complement of horses and mules.
These will be requisitioned from Algina and elsewhere.

It is officially stated that France and Spain, in an exchange of views on Morocco, were consistently cordial. Hi© "M'atin" states .that Germany is aware, through the friendly Powers, that Frames'® efforts are solely directed towards the safety of the Europeans and strengthening of the Sultan's authority. The "Eclair" suggests, with a view to allaying mai^ru.ft,,-and after a suggestion, that the French, German and Spanish troops should guard tlie legations of Fez, France should arrange her troops to withdraw three days after they arrive. t
