MASTERTON RACING CLUB.
MEETING OF STEWARDS. The Stewards of the Masterton Racing Club held their monthly meeting on Saturday afternoon, there being present:— Messrs C. F. Vallance (dhadrman), J. B. Moodie, D. MoLachlan, F. Dorset, J. Yates, W. Cooper, J. loms, W. lorns and A: J. Welch.
Apologies for absence were received from Messrs C. A. Pownallj C J. Bennett and Reside.
The secretary of the P. and A. Society wrote stating that the dates fixed for their show were 25th and 26th October, 1911, the earn© days as the Masterton races. The secretary further stated that if the dates were reconsidered he -would inform the Maslterton Racing Cluh of any change.— Received. E. Jackman, of Auckland, applied for the position of starter to the Club.— It was decided] to inform the applicant that the Cluh did not intend to change its starter. Thomas Higgins, Masterton, wrote forwarding claim on the N.Z. Accident Fund for injuries received while in the employ of R. Knox, •and asking the Club to recommend his .application.— The application was recommended for favourable consideration to the Conference.
The resignation of Mr Arthur Welch as a member of the Club was accepted'. The Treasurer reported that there was a debit balance of £421 3s 9d on the general account, and a credit of £272 Is 6d on the totalisator account. A vote of condolence ,was passed to Mr C. A. Pownall in connection with the death of his wife.
