(Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) . LONDON, May 7. In the course of an interview, tho Hon. D. Lloyd-George stated that lie had been deluged with telegrams of congratulation from the younger Tories, who are particularly favourable. Sir Joseph Ward has written, expressing his profound admiration ol the scheme. Mr Lloyd-Georgo added that it was no small tribute to the scheme to receive the approbation of a colon.v which had taken so heroic a load in the form of social legislation.
HOW IT AFFECTS RAILWAY COMPANIES. (Received Last Night, 5.5> o'clock.) LONDON, May 7. The Great Western and London and North Western Railways employ 200,000 men, and the sickness insurance will cost them £130,000 a year. Typists, bank clerks, and domestic servants are included. Mothers of illegitimate children will receive a maternity allowance.
