Madero, leader of the insurrectors, met Judgo Carbajai, the Diaz Government's peacy envoy, near Juarez, and formally arranged peace conference details. Madero will not participate in the conference, Dr. Gomez representing him. Another attack on Aguaprieta is expected. Dougla3 people (across the border in the States) are apprehensive that if peace is not reached, there will be a battle at Nogales Sonora, where the Federals and insurrectors are numerous.
CHAOS IN MEXICO

MEXICO CITY, May 4. Two thousand rebels are threatening the capital.
Famine conditions are prevailing. Tho country is more unsettled than ever, and independent bands of rebels are pillaging. Twenty-five Federals were killed at Magdalena. Horrible atrocities are reported from Southern California. Rebels are in full possession of Tecote, killing everyone caught. Already fire have been shot, and two burned. Two American miners were murdered in Sonora county.
