MAINTENANCE CASE.
CHANGE OF VENUE. Mr Page, of Ekethuna, applied to i Mr L.- G. Reid, S.M., at the Masterterton Mgistrate's Court yesterday, for a change of venue n the case of Small y. Burling. Mr Pownall opposed the application, and stated that the case was one in which Henry Burling, of Waikanae, a man of 110 years of age, was suing his son, Henry Burling, of Waterfalls, near Eketahuna, who, it is stated, was worth £60,000, for maintenance, the information having been laid by a grand-daughter of the applicant, Mrs Small. Mr Page stated that the son had offered to pay half -the cost to maintain his father if he would come and live at Eketahuna. Mr Pownall: Yes, in an old hut. Mr Page stated that the son would provide comforts and a residence. His Worship granted the change of venue, and the ease will be heard at Eketahuna.
