THE MEMBER FOR WAIRARAPA.

The member for Wairarapa was in, as good fettle !ast night as the frigid conditions would permit. ! His criticism of the financial and other operations of the Government was effective, but he was lamentably weak when be came to ths work of construction. As an old campaigner he should have been prepared with' a policy which would have stimulated interest, if it did not excite enthusiasm. But he had none. He was as impotent in this respect- as is the Government he so mercilessly criticises. The people of ithe country are fairly well acquainted with the sins of the Government, and the Wairarapa electors appreciate the industry and honesty of Mr Buchanan. But they want a policy. Has Mr Massey none to offer?
