SIR JOSEPH WARD.
In a leading article on "Sir Joseph Ward's Future," the Dunedin Star expresses the opinion that the Prime Minister of the Dominion will next year go to London permanently. Sir Joseph, it says, will of course come back to New Zealand this year, and lead the Liberal party at the General Election. "His party are not likely to be dm a minority after the election, and we entertain little doubt that he could continue, if he chose, as Prime Minister throughout the duration of the next Parliament. Nevertheless ito ehould not be surprised to witness an important development in the course of 1912. Nay, to be frank, lve shall b? surprised if there is no change. Should the proposail to establish an Imperial Council materialise in operative shape, it is (we think) almost a foregone conclusion that Sir Joseph Warcl would be one of the first members of the new body, and with that position it would be natural for Mm to associate the High. Commissiomership of the Dominion."
