LATE COMMERCIAL.
PAHIATUA STOCK SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Pahiatua stock sale as follows: We offered a full yarding of both sheep and cattle to a large attendance. Prices for sheep showed an upward, tendency on re-\ cent markets, ajidi cattle sold readily at prices in advance' of late rates, practically the whole- yarding changing hands under the Hammer. Quotations:— Fat ■ 2-itooth ewes, lis 9d; 2-tooth to f.m. ewes in lamb, 10s; f.m. ewes in lamb, 5s 6d to 8s; cull empty ewes, 2s 3d to 3s 3d; lambs, 4s to 6s; others, 2s 7d. *> Springing heifers, £4 to £5; forward cows, £3 19s to £4 10s; fat cows, to £5 13s; 18-month to 2yr steers, £4 9s 6d; empty heifers to £2 19s; empty cows to £3 lis; 2} to 3yr steers, to £4 18s 6d; cows in milk to £3 10s; wearbers, to 345. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly Pahiatuai stock sale in the P.F.A. yards on the 2nd inst. jThe entry consisted chiefly of cattle, good sorts selling well up to late rates. We are able to report' almost a total clearance. We quote:— 3£-year bullocks to £5 7s 6d; yearling steers, £2 to £2 12s 6d; weaner steers, 17s 6d, 20s to 25s j weaner heifers, 20s, 245, 30s to 375; 18-months heifers, in. calf, £2 9s, £3 17s 6d to £4 for better sorts; store cows,. £2 lis to £3 14s; cows and calves (poor sorts) £3 8s 6d ; jßum. ewes in lamb, os 6d.
