CAUSE and CURE OF SCIATICA.
Dunedin Man Who Suffers from an Acute Attack Tells How he Was Cured*
Because sciatica is a disease of the sciatic nerve, it has been found that the best treatment is one that tends to put the whole nervous system in a strong healthy condition. Blisters and injections are sometimes used to ease the sharp, shooting, lightning pains in the hips and legs, but this treatment is not regarded in any sense as a cure. A cure can only be obtained by looking to the cause ot the complaint, and restoring the nerves to their proper state of tone. In addition to the tonic treatment, resting the limbs in bed or on a couch as much as possible helps a cure. Mr James Curran, 49 Church Street, Kaikorai Valley, Rqslyn, Dunedin, had a bad attack of sciatica, and declares that Dr. Williams' Pink Pills cured him and nothing else. "About ten years since I was working on tho Government Railways. The work was very pevere, loading and shifting ballast. One day a bad pain caught me in the hip. For some time the pain was so bad I could do no work, and when I did try I had to sit down and rest till the pam would ease a little. I had to work as I had a family to keep. The pam used to ease off for a little while when I would sit down or stand up, and became bad again as soon as I would stoop to work. My joints became very stiff and I used to have to catch hold of something to get up when I had been sitting down, the pain was so bad. The pain was almost worse when I was moving about. When I was in bed I used to have to lie on my right side: and if I tried to turn in bed I could not 'do so. I suffered agony, and consulted a doctor, who prescribed I lotions for me, and medicines to drink, but did not do me any good. I was under his care for five or six years and spent a lot of money without deriving any benefit. Eventually I concluded as the doctor was doing me no good, I would try Br. Williams' Pink Pills, as I had heard and read a great deal about them. I had lost my appetite. In about five or six weeks after using Dr. Williams' Pink Pills I found my appetite returning, and the pains decreasing. I took about forty boxes altogether and completely lost all pain, and though I am now 84 years of age, I am able to walk about without any assistance except a walking stick, and I think I am looking very fresh for my age. I cannot speak too highly of Dr. Williams' Pink Pills." Dr. Williams' Pink Pills are 3s per box, six boxes 16s 6d, of all medicine dealers, or from the Dr. Williams' Medicine Co., of Australasia, Ltd., Wellington.
