COLONIAL SUGAR COMPANY.
A YEAR'S OPERATIONS. United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received April 29, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 29. At the half yearly meeting of the Colonial Sugar Companv, the report showed a profit of £207,428. A dividend of 10 per centum was passed, and £77,613 carried forward. The Hon. H. E. Kater, the chairman, stated that the commission appointed by the Queensland Government had advised the erection of three additional central mills by the State, and the Government had declared that the idea had their support. Owing to some over development of the industry, some losses may be expected during the next four years. Referring to the recent statement by Mr Hughes (Acting-Federal Prime Minister) that the company refuses to supply storekeepers if they sell imported sugar, Mr Kater declared that the company would supply anybody that was able to pay.
