WOOL, SKIN, AND HIDE SALE.

PALMERSTON N., Last Night
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:— At our Palmerston North wool, skin and hide sale, held on Friday, the 28th inst., we had a large catalogue of skins and a medium one of wool and hides. Wool and skins showed a slight rise in last mouth's prices, .but very few hide buyers were competing, and consequently prices were not up to the usual rates. We quote:— Wool: Crossbred, 6£d, 7d, 7Jd, 7£d to ■crossbred lambs, 7d to 7fd; crossbred bellies and pieces, 6Jd; black, 6d to Q>\; merino, 7sd; lambs, 6d to 6|d; crutchings, 4§d; locks and pieces, I 4Jd; pieces, 4d to 5Jd; dead, 6d to ' 6Jd. Skins.— Crossbred, s£d, 6jd, to 7d ; crossbred line, 7£d ; crossbred damaged, 3§d to s|d; lambs, 4?d, sfd to 6fd; quarter to half wools, s£d, half wools, 5-Jd; pelts inferior, 2|d to 4d; pelts damaged, Id; crossbred ! damaged, 2s, 3s Id, 3s 6d, 4s 3d to i 4s sd; lambs damaged, 2s. 4d to j 2s 8d; dead damaged, 2s; lambs' ' pelts, damaged, 6d; crossbred salted 2s 7d, 3s, 3s 3d, 3s 7d to 4s 2d; lambs' pelts, salted, Is 9d; pelts, salted, 2s 4d. Hides.— Calf, 8d to Bfd; calf cut 6d;/ yearlings, 6£d to 7d; yearlings, cut, yearlings, slippy, 4£d; cows light, s|d to cows medium, s|d to 6d; cows heavy, 6d to 6&d; ox light, 5-|d to 6d; ox medium, 6£d to 6^d; ox heavy, 6£d to 6|d; horse, 8s; heifers and steers, sjd. Sundries.—-Tins tallow, 24s 3d to 24s 6d; casks tallow, 26s 9d; cow tails, Is 5d per dozen.
