VARIOUS APPLICATIONS I A meeting or the "VVemngton Land I Board was held at the District Lands j and Survey Office on Thursday. Those present were: —Mr James Mackenzie (Commissioner of Crown Lands, in the chair), Messrs J. Dawson, H. T. Ellingham, J. Georgetta, and W. M.'Lehnan. APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. Applications for land were consid- , ered and dealt with as follow: — A letter from Messrs Toswill and Ulrich, regarding the proposed sublease of Section .17* Block 5, Mount Cerberus, T. 0. Gorman to A. R. Gilland, was received, but no action was taken at this juncture. Mi-.John Harvey, lessee of Sectio'i 29, Block 14, Tararua, applied for the freehold title.—lt was resolved to decline, as the conditions of the Act with regard to residence had not been complied with. Mr C. E. Wildbare attended, and asked that a better tenure than from j year to year ba granted him of Sections 55 "t0."59, Nireaha Village. The Board to consider. With regard to Mr A. Barne's aplication for about 300 acres of Section 3, Block I, Ruahine, it was resolved that the board regretted it. could not entertain the application. It was resolved to approve o"f Section 3, Block X, Mount Cerberus, area about 361 acres/) roods 0.3 perches, being offered under Part 111 of the Land Act, 1903, at tbo price -of- £6 10.4 per acre, weighted with £BB2 10s for improvements to be paid by instalments over a period of years under the usual tabic.. It was resolved to'approve of Mr G. D. W. Priest's being granted a permit to occupy Section 73, Block VI. Makuri, from year to year at a rent to be fixed' by the Commissioner. Colcnso Run, 2510 acres.—The Commissioner reported that he had made fin inspection of the above small grazing run, being Section 2, Block I, Ruahine. Ho reconmended that the run be again offered .for disposal at a roductcd "rental, and that a residents! 1 site of above 3 acres on the Main Mokai Road bo attached as part of the run. —It was resolved that ' the land bo offered at a rental of five.per cent. ' . •
