NEW ZEALAND FQRECAST,

WELLINGTON, Last Night
The Meteorological Office this evening issued the fcJowing summary and forecast:—
Fair weather lias prevailed on the East Coast districts, but showery in parts elsewhere, and a thunderstorm and heavy rain occurred on the West Coast of the' South Island last night. The barometer has fallen considerably in the south, and northerly and westerly winds have increased generally. Present indications are lor stormy weather and high northerly and Westerly winds, strong to gale southward of New Plymouth and Napier, veering to southerly in about sixteen hours. Rain is probable in most parts, and heavy on the West Coast districts, southward of New Plymouth, ' with rivers rising. The barometer is likely to fall everywhere after from-sixteen to twenty hours.
