Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:— At John son vliie yesterday, ox beef made from £9 12& to £lO 15s for the best, and; i'rom £9 to £9 10s for lighter sorts. A good entry of siieep sold readily at tha fol lowing flotations: — Prime bravy ewes, 16s 7d, medium ewes, 13s 3d to 15s; light ewes, lis 7d to 12s 6d; good wethers, 17s lOd; medium wethers, 16s 8d; lambs, 9s 7d to lis 4d.

I Messrs Balgeiy and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly sale in the (Solway (Masterton) yards on Wednesday, 26th inst., when thev offered a good yarding of both &heep and cattle. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton sale, held yesterday, as follows: A large 1 yarding of oattle of extra good qual- I ity was submitted by the three firms | comprising good Shorthorn bullocks, steers, heifers, and weaners. Several large lines of the last mentioned coming under the hammer. The sale on the whole was a successful one, and business at auction good, practically a total clearance resulting. ; "The entry of sheep was not of good quality, and the enquiry limited. A dragging sale was experienced throughout. Quotations. Grown store bullocks, £6 2s 6d; 3yr steers, £5 10s to £5 15s, and £5 17s 6d for an extra good lot from JBowlands; 2year steers, £4 3s to £4.10s (Bowlands), 18-month empty heifers, £2 10& 6d to £3; fat cows (light) £5 9s; forward heifers, £4 lis; others, £3' 15s; 18-month steers (good) £3 9s 6d; store cows, £3 10s; aged cull cows, £2 5s ; mother reared weaners, mixed sexes, £2 3s-to £2 5s 6d; dairy bred weaners, 22s 6d.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report at their, weekly sale at Solway yards yesterday:— We offered a good average yarding of sheep of all classes. Good "conditioned ewes, wethers or lambs met with a ready gale* but poor conditioned ewes failed to sell under the hammer, but found a market later as boilers. PAHIATEA STOCK SALE

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual stock sale in the Mangahao yards on the 25th inst., when they offered a good yarding of sheep, comprising some fair 'lines of 4 and 5-year ewes and a line of 300 good 2-tooth wethers, which sold at lis 6d, smaller lots at lis; 4 and 5-year ewes from 6s 6d to 7s; cull ewes, 3s 10; medium shorn lambs, 4s lOd. Cattle came forward above advertised numbers, the entries being mostly fat and store co.ws, and weaner calves. CLEARING SALE REPORT,

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report at their clearing sale on account of Messrs Sliute and Son yesterday : —Wo had a largo and representative attendance of farmers from all parts of tho district, Tho salo opened with the sheep, the quality being good throughout, and well classed. Notwithstanding the difficulty experienced in selling sheep of late, this Hock was well-competed for, and a good salo resulted. All cows and young stock offering mado good prices. Competition for horses was not very keen and several lots passed, but wore all sold during tho afternoon.
