ST. MATTHEW'S CLUB.

SMOKE CONCERT. The winter session of the above Club commenced last night, when 'a successful smoke concert' was heldA large number of members were present, and "tile' proceedings were most enthusiastic. The President of the Club (Rev. H. Watson) occupied the chair, and: songs were by the following gentlemen:— Messrs A, Long, G. C. Branson, W. Purcell, W. Parker, H. Green, C. Sharp, and Rev. W. Raine. The accompaniments were played by Mr G. C. Branson. Refreshments were partaken of during a short interval. Next Thursday Mr A. C. Pragnell has promised to give a paper on "Hockey." This should be of special and -all hockey players are invited to attend.
