LOCAL INDUSTRIES.
[To The Editor.'] Sir,—The letter appearing in your issue of Saturday, signed "Ratepayer," re local industries, is of the utmost importance to our town. The subject is one that could well receive consideration by the Council. It is true the Council is only an administrative body, but any movement having for its object the welfare of the community should receive attention by the Council. I feel sure our worthy Mayor, who has the interests of the town at heart, would bo only too glad, with the assistance of the Council, to procure information which would be of great value, and which would induce private individuals to embark upon some profitable enterprise, whic-K would he of lasting benefit to the town.—l am, etc., F. W. TEMPLE.
