DEFIES THE AUTHORITIES. REGARDED AS A MARTYR. (Received Last Night, 9.20 o'clock.) ST. PETERSBURG, April 24. A monk named lliodor triumphed over the efforts of the Holy Synod, Government and police to remove him from the See of Tzaritzin. He is regarded as a demi-god. His twelve thousand followers form the nucleus of a reform movement in the Orthodox Church, and threatens to overturn the heirarchy. lliodor, in his exploit, appeals to millions of the humbler Church members, who regard him as a martyr, saved by the Czar's intervention. lliodor has started a campaign against the impious, captivated classes. The members of the "Black Hundred" rejoice over his success.
