RIMUTAKA DEVIATION.
PETITION TO BE CIRCULATED. The Railway League Committee of the Masterton Chamber of Commerce met yesterday afternoon, and further discussed the question of the Rimutaka deviation. It was decided that a petition, for presentation to Parliament, be canvassed in the district extending from Wellington to Napier. It is hoped that the petition will be in readiness in the course of a few days, when copies will b© sent to each Chamber of Commerce and local body interested, and will be open for signature in business and other prominent places.
