Weight and superior skill then told, and Pearce increased his lead, never afterwards being troubled. The judge's verdict was that the race.was won by Pearce by twenty lengths, the time being 20min. 45 ; sec. Tlie Sydney "«sun" says that Pearce is up to world's championship form, and should be given a chance- of tackling Arnst without delay. Arnst, who is aboard the Ulimaroa, was Interviewed by wireless telegraphy, and declared that he would meet Pearce in ten weeks' time for £SOO aside. Pearce says this will suit him, and thinks he can get a backing.
