MASTERTON RIFLES.

PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES.

The usual weekly parade of the Masterton Rifles was held last evening, in the Drill Hall, Lieut. Haslam being in command. After the parade the presentation of shooting trophies was made to the successful winners.

The Championship Cup, presented by the ladies of JVlasterton, and gold medal presented by Lieut. Haslam, was presented to Colour-Sergeant H. Perry. The Renall Oup, presented by Mr J. A. IRenall (ex-Mayor of Masterton) for the B Class championship, was won by Private H. Pryor, which takes with it Mr J. Prentice's silver hot-water jug. A rose bowl presented by Mr J. Hessey for the highest handicap aggregate over 200 yds in the first match, 500 yds in the second match, 600 yds in the .third match, and 800 yds in .the, fourth match, was won by Sei-gt. L; Prentice. A recruit medal, presented by Sergt. L. PrentK>e, for recruits only, was won by Private R. King. The following aggregate handicap trophies were presented:— A Class: —lst, Sergt. L. Prentice (Mrs A. O. Levien's clock); 2nd, Col.-Sergt. H. Perry (Sergt. Winter's field glasses); 3rd, Battalion Sergt.-Major Morton H. Long's silver-mounted inkstand; 4th, Sergt. A. O. Levien (J. Graham and Co.'s afternoon tea spoons in case.) B Class:— Ist, Private R. Lee (King and Henry's cleaning outfit); 2nd, Private F. Taplin (J. Allan's box of tea); 3rd, .Private A. Prentice (L. Hughes' silver-mounted pipecase) ; 4th, E. Hustin (J. Blinkhome's tobacco pouch.)
