MONTHLY MEETING.

The monthly meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trustees was held last evening, there being present : Messrs T. Wagg (chairman), R. Krahagen, H. C. L. Robinson, D. Caselberg, T. B. Michel], C. E. Daniell, W. H. Jackson, and 0. N. C. Pragnell.

The secretary of the Masterton South Brass. Band wrote asking for a grant of £lO, and forwarding list of The matter was held over until the annual grants were considered. A letter was received from the secretary of the Druids' Lodge asking permission to make some alterations at the old Fire Brigade Station.—This matter was referred to the repair committee, with power to act. The Valjisr-General forwarded reassessment of the new brick building in Queen., Street.— Received.

In reply to a letter from the secretary, H. P. Miller forwarded particulars of gas installation at the Municipal Opera House, Palmerston North, for the benefit of Mr Blackman, who is drawing up a report on the Town Hall lighting 'question.— Received.

Mr.C. A. Pownall wrote, forwarding sub-lease of corner shop in the Star Block from Hodges to Bain, for the consent of the Trustees.— The sub-lease was approved of. The secretary of the Greytown Town Board wrote, asking for information concerning the seats in the Town Hall, from whom they were obtained, and the price of same.— The secretary stated that he had supplied the information.

Messrs Hallenstein Bros, wrote requesting the Trust to place tlie name of Mr Frost (their local manager) on the Trust Lands Trust roll.—The secretary reported that he had written to Hallenstein Bros., stating that the application could not be-granted, owing to the fact that Mr Frost resided- out of the prescribed area. The Treasurer reported that there was a credit balance at the bank of £l2 17s 9d.

Accounts amounting to £B6 8s 9d were submitted, and passed for payment.
