TO THE ELECTORS. T ADIES AND GENTLEMEN.— At the request of a consider-able-section of the electors, both in North and South Wairarapa, I have allowed myself to be nominated as a 'candidate for a seat on the Wellington Harbour Board. I have lived practically the whole of my life in the , Wairarapa, and may with confidence j claim to ibe thoroughly conversant ■ with its requirements. I have been connected with the primary industries from their start in the district, and these are vitally connected. with the development of Wellington as a port, i I am a Director of the Wellington ' Farmers' Meat Freezing Company, and am thereby brought into close touch with the question of shipping facilities. Should you honour me with your confidence, you may rely on my best energies being devoted to safeguarding and furthering the interests of primary producers, while at the same time I would carefully 'conserve the interests of the business community. The increased representation provided for under the new Act makes it advisable for electors to take a keen interest in inatters'pertaining , to their port, and so to ensure progressive although prudent management. I remain, Yours sincerely, FREDERICK B. LOWES. |
WELLINGTON LAND BOARD ELECTION. TO THE GROWN TENANTS. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.— Within a few weeks there will he a vacancy on the Land Board, and thinking, as I very strongly do, that there is room on the Board for one directly and closely in touch with the settler's, and remembering that I made a very strong bid at the last election, when quite unknown outaide vour own locality, it will cause no surprise and call for no apology when announcing myself as a candidate for the approaching vacancy. In matters pertaining to land and land settlement I stand for all that is good, all that is liberal, all that is progressive, with a whole-hearted and natural- sympathy with th- pioneering settler. As far as practicable 1 propose canvassing you personally, and endeavouring to convince yoil of my usefulness and ability, and hope'to inspire your confidence. Yours res]>ectfully, A. J. JOBLIN. Taihape, March" 31st, 1911.
