RIFLE SHOOTING
WAIRARAPA WINNERS AT HAWKE'S BAY.
At the Hawke's Bay Ritfo Association's annual meeting on Monday, a fair amount of prize money was won [ by Wairarapa riflemen. In the Ha-st- ' ings Match, .10 shots at 500 and 900 yards, Swanson and Hyde (Opaki) secured £1 each, and Welch (Opaki)'won 10s. King (Opaki) won £1 in the Napier Match, 7 shots at 600 and 800 yards, Welch (Opaki) 15s, and McKenzio and Hyde (Opaki) 10s. King, Hyde, and Nix (Featherston) were each succeeded in winning 10s in tho Waipawa- Match, 7 shots each at 800, 900, and 1000 yards. Third place in the Sweepstake Match, optional aggregates for 500, 600, and 800 yards m Hastings, Napier, and Waipawa, matches, was won by King, who take* £3 -in prize money. In tho same match Welch won £l. The Op.ri. i. Rifle Club won £5 in the Teams' Match for tho Collins' Shield, being placed second. The team was composed of King, Hyde, McKenzie, Welch, and Swa'is-on. Tho Champion Belt at the meeting was won by Sergt. Joplin, of Wellington.
