MASTERTON COLLIE CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The Masterton Collie Club held its annual meeting on Saturday evening last, Mr W. L. Falconer presiding over a good attendance. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: President, Mr H. H. Beetham ;• vice-presidents, Messrs W. C. Buchanan, M.P., R. Morrison, R. F. R. Beetham, H. G. Williams, H. Holmes, J. P. Perry, Hugh Morrison, Joseph Morris, W. Welch, Walter Cameron, R. Gray, T. W. McKenzie, W. L. Falconer, J. Strang, C. Bennett and Bland Ray-. ner; treasurer, Mr F. W. Carey; hon. secretary, Mr Geo. R. Sykes. The Club's trials were fixed by the North Island I>og Trials Association for May 25th, 26th and 27th. A strong committee was appointed to arrange details. The following prize list was agreed to:— Heading, bringing back and holding, first prize £7, second £5, third £2;. heading, di-iving and yarding, open to au competitors, first prize £5, second £3, third £2; heading, driving and yarding, open only to competitors resident within the boundaries of the Wairarapa and Masterton electoral districts, first prize Mr H. H. Beetham's special of 5 guineas, second £3, third £2; huntaway, first prize £7, second £5, third £2; teams match, of three dogs, first prize Mr R. F. R. Beetham's special of 5 guineas, second Mr.J. Strang's special of 3 guineas, third Mr W. C. Buchanan's special of 2 guineas. It is confidently anticipated that the entries for these trials will be exceptionally good, as the Trial Clubs of the North Island are now 'controlled >oy an Association which fixes the dates suitable to the various Clubs, and thus prevents the clashing that has occurre-3 in the oast.
