LABOUR TROUBLES.
THE PETROL TAX
(Received April 17, 9 a.m.) LONDON, April 16. A meeting of taxi-caib drivers protested against the proprietors seeking, by an increase in fares, to pass on the petrol tax. The drivers threaten to strike if action is taken before the Government investigation is completed. They also demand daily wages in lieu of a percentage of the takings.
MELBOURNE, April 17
The calbmen's boycott of the wharves has been removed, pending action by the City Council.
