PILLAGING OF RESIDENCES.
SOLDIERS CHARGE, (Received April 17, 9 a.m.) PARIS, April 16. Vine-dressers at Trepail barricaded the village and pillaged tho residence of a wine merchant. Itie soldiery demolished the barricades, and, in order to stop devastation of the cellars, charged with drawn swords. Fifty acres of vines belonging to Messrs Moet and Chandon have been uprooted at Vernegay. Fifty arrests have been made in the disturbed area.
A GENERAL CALM
MOVEMENT OF TROOPS. (Received Last Night, 9.25 o'clock.) PARIS, April 17. There is a general calm in the vinegrowing districts, except at Fontainsuray, where a forest was set afire. Ball cartridges have been served to 20,000 troops in tho Epernay district, and a cordon has been drawn around Ay. The troops have ordered to butt-end trespassers. -Several rioters have been sent to the hospital. Stables and schools liavo been converted into barracks.
