Farrell. made the running to the last obstacle, where he •fell. Boyong won by ten lengths. Time, 3min. 44^sec. Autumn Stakes.— Comedy King 8.7, 1; Trafalgar 9.3, 2; Lady Medallist 8.12, 3. Seven starters. A good start. Lady Medallist quickly established a lead of three lengths from Comedy King, with the field well up. Little cliange took place excepting that-Lady Medallist widened the gap, till approaching the , turn, where the field commenced to 1 close up. Lady Medallist led into ] the straight.* Comedy King overhauled her below the Leger, and Trafalgar joiied in the issue. All the acceptors started. There was a long delay at the post. From a good start Grist and Torula were the first to show out. After settling in their places, Grist and Broadsword took charge from ±. Jss Corelli, Sunlike and Lager, the others being in a heap. At six furlongs, Broadsword and Grist still showed the way, with Sir Lawrence next. A little further on Lager dashed out and led at the half-mile by two lengths clear of Gold Thread, Broadsword and Bright Laddie. Bounding the bend Lager was a length clear of Gold Thread, Broadsword, Royal Merv, Corelli, and Bright Laddie. Lager was first into the straight. Below the distance Gold Thread and Bright Laddie showed out most prominently from Broadsword, Corelli and Flavinius. At the half distnace, Broadsword came again with Simlike, and after a desperate race won by three quarters of a length. Flavinius was half a length off. Then came Corelli, Bright Laddie, Gold Thread' and Royal Merv. Time, lmin. 38£ sec. St. Leger.— Cadoriia 1, Mangar 2, 'Aurofodina 3. Nine starters. Mangar went to the front, with Aurofodina as his nearest attendant. He led the field along the back into the straight. Aurofodina closed up below the dis- [ tanoe.
