N.Z. SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
AKAROA, Last Night. Everything promises well for the sculling race to-morrow, the weather • being beautiful and the water like glass. Both men went out for a final row with their pacers' this morning, but no serious work was done. Yesterday morning Wheich contented himself with a mile and a half, paced by Westenra. He finished up the last quarter of a mile with a fast.' leaving Westenra. very badij ■in the rear. Fogwell and J. Arnst (his pacer) just indulged in . solid, steady: work. The race will 'be" rowed' at four o'clock on Monday, the paying oyer of the stakes being postponed till Tuesday night. Both men, who are even favourites, are confident of success. Fogwell said to-day that, i "provided the water and weather con- ! ditions are alright, if Wheich beats , I me I shall not trouble him again, as I shall then know ue is the better man." . ;
