Akaroa is rapidly filling with visitors to witness the, contest for the professional sculling championship of New Zealand, which eventuates here on Easter Monday, bet'w wa/Whekh, of Akaroa (present holdW), jmd Fogwell, of Australia (chalh iger). Both men have been hi active (raining on the harbour, and are showing so<?i. foim. Fogwell is showing a mark.-si improvement on the form he displayed 1 when he was defeated by Wh i\ aj for the championship two years ago. Both men are even favourites. There is every prospect of the tine .weather lasting. Arnst will .be here to witness the match. Besides the championship there is a stake of £2OO aside, Fogwell taking £SO expenses in the event of his losing. Whelch takes the whole of the gate, win or lose. -*
