DANNEVIRKE, Last Night. This afternoon, at a large gathering of townspeople and country settlers, Mr T. Faton, stationmaster here for ten years, who recently retired on superannuation, was presented witJi a purse containing 156 sovereigns as a mark of appreciation, and esteem. The presentation was made by the Mayor, while Mr F. G. Cowper spoke on behalf of the country settlers. Mr Pa-tort, before coming here, was a well-known railway official in Otago.
